Brian Messerschmitt joined Dollar Tree Inc. in May 2023 and is currently the Chief Marketing Officer responsible for brand marketing, ecommerce, creative services, and customer insights and analytics. As the CMO, Brian is relentlessly focused on transforming the brand narrative, improving the customer experience, and leveraging data driven marketing solutions to drive traffic and sales through the power of value, convenience, and discovery. He has a unique blend of both CPG and retail marketing experience which he leverages to build the brand and build the business.

Prior to Dollar Tree Inc., Brian spent 4 years at Albertson’s leading Shopper Marketing and launching Albertson’s Media Collective where he successfully designed, launched and grew their new retail media business. Prior to Albertsons, Brian spent 20 years at Procter & Gamble with various assignments in marketing and brand management, ecommerce, and sales on several leading billion dollar brands including Tide, Crest, Pantene, Gillette and Braun.

Brian has a bachelor’s of science degree in Paper Science and Engineering and received his MBA from Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

A Cincinnati, Ohio native, Brian and his wife, Liz, have three children and currently reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia. When he’s not working, Brian enjoys watching and coaching his kids in sports, exercising, and enjoying the great outdoors.
