A campaign shows a real, proven incremental lift. Total brand sales are trending negative over the same period. Both numbers are correct, and most marketers have no idea how to explain that to the person holding the budget.

That gap is where most measurement conversations actually break down — not in the math, but in translating a scoped, causal result into a decision or a sentence a leader can act on. This session works backward from that gap. You'll learn the real difference between attribution and incrementality and how that distinction shows up across sales, ROAS, new-to-brand, household penetration and repeat purchase rate, not just in the metrics everyone assumes. You'll learn why scope, audience and channel objective can make two wildly different-looking results equally correct. And you'll get the Four C's — Claim, Context, Comparison and Communicate — a repeatable way to read any measurement number and explain it without losing the room or the budget.

We'll close on the industry's next unsolved problem: making results comparable across retailers, using the Association of National Advertisers' (ANA) August 2026 measurement standardization guidance as the current state of that effort.

This is a foundational session built for brand-side marketers who are tired of measurement conversations that generate more confusion than confidence.
